Resources for Moms of High School Seniors
I remember the coaching session I started with, “I want to make sure I'm not missing something.”
My daughter was a senior in high school, and to be honest, I was excited. I was excited about the possibilities she would have in college, and I was looking forward to what the empty-nest years would bring.
But I had heard from other moms of seniors who were sad or feeling lost. I was concerned that something was wrong with me since I didn't feel that way.
During that session, I was reminded of an important truth—every person has a unique journey, including their emotions. It was okay for me to be excited, and it was good to have a space to process those thoughts and emotions about our upcoming transition.
It's also okay if you feel anxious, fearful, sad, lost, or any other emotion as your teen approaches graduation. There's not one right way to feel.

Most advice focuses on what you need to do to prepare your teen for college, but few address the internal roller coaster moms experience during this season. It's not just our teens that need to prepare for their next stage. Moms (and dads) need to prepare, too!
If this season feels tender, confusing, or unexpectedly emotional, you are not alone. Nothing about what you are feeling is wrong or a sign that you are missing something. This is a meaningful transition, and it makes sense that it would stir up a wide range of emotions, sometimes all at once.
On this page, I'll share the resources that have helped me through this transition, along with ways we can partner to support you through this life transition.

Coaching To Help You Navigate The Transition of Your Child's Senior Year
Coaching provides a safe, supportive space to process the mix of pride, loss, and uncertainty that comes as your children grow up and to rediscover who you are beyond being “mom.”
Your teen's senior year brings a swirl of emotions no one fully prepares you for.
- You’re proud, grateful, and excited for what’s ahead.
- You’re also carrying a quiet ache, a growing tenderness, and the unsettling sense that everything is shifting under your feet.
This is the liminal space of motherhood—the space between what was and what will be.

And the truth is, most moms expect logistical challenges during this season. Few anticipate the internal ones.
- The grief.
- The emotional whiplash.
- The identity questions.
- The loneliness.
- The strange quiet after years of being needed.
And for moms of differently wired teens, these shifts can feel even more layered and delicate.
You don’t have to process all of this alone.
A Year of Letting Go is a coaching program that provides a calm, reflective space to navigate this twelve-month transition with support, clarity, and compassionate guidance. This year-long program covers three stages that mirror the natural emotional arc of this season: Wrapping Up, Preparation, and Adjusting. You can learn more about each stage here.
