I welcome your feedback on my use of certain skills/strategies in our coaching sessions.  There are two sections: how important has a skill/strategy been in helping you achieve your objectives for coaching/mentoring, and whether it would have helped to use them more or less.  Please answer as best as you can, wherever you feel it is appropriate, and feel free to add comments.

Helping you to think critically by asking questions and helping you to reflect.

 

Summarizing and paraphrasing what you told me.

 

Helping you to focus on realistic goals which feel relevant to your own background and experience.

 

Helping you to focus on appropriate development plans to help you achieve those goals.

 

Helping you to consider alternative views and options.

 

Helping you to uncover the thoughts behind assumptions you may have been making.

 

Challenging your explanations for or avoidance of decisions and actions relevant to your goals and development.

Helping you to motivate yourself to take necessary risks and overcome obstacles in achieving your goals.
